i think police officers should be given a little more space to do what they need to protect themselves. Its like people are surprised when police have to use their weapons, or when they shoot somebody, they forget the part that the guy the policeman was fighting had a gun.

Yes, mean ole police officers will use knee strikes to bring down resisting/fighting suspects.
And those things in the holsters, they are not for ad hoc races where a starting gun is needed.

Some of these comments are just people trying to impress each other.
The instructor here does a good job showing a basic technique. I have used these strikes as a police officer and found them effective.
As to technique, you can be critical and pick horsecrap out of pepper all you want, but as an intro to the knee strike, the instructor did a decent job.
